The idea of constructing the Christ the King statue in Świebodzin was born shortly after the city and municipality of Świebodzin were entrusted to the care of Christ the King. This act was performed by diocesan bishop Adam Dyczkowski on November 26, 2000.
The initiator was Reverend Prelate Sylwester Zawadzki, the pastor of the Divine Mercy parish in Świebodzin, who chose the location for the monument.
In 2005, the plot was purchased and construction began. The construction lasted from 2005 to 2010.
Exactly on the Feast of Christ the King of the Universe on November 21, 2010, at 4:00 pm, a solemn Mass was held with the consecration of the statue of Jesus Christ, which stands at the entrance to Świebodzin. The 440-ton statue is 36 meters tall and is taller than the famous Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro.
The final result was the work of many people, often selflessly dedicating their time, knowledge, and skills.

- total height – 48 m (mound – 12 m, slab – 1 m, figure – 33 m, crown – 2 m);
- arm span – 26 m;
- total weight – approx. 260 T (figure with internal structure);
- thickness of the coating in the lower segments – about 20 cm;
- thickness of laminate in the torso and arms area – approx. 6 mm;
˗ the crown was made from aluminum sheet coated with a protective layer in the galvanization process; externally gilded with gold leaf.
